  • We began our home search with Shaye Lastra in Spring 2013. After speaking with several Realtors®, Shaye was the person we wanted to work with because she had an exceptional work ethic, and was very knowledgeable about the area and process. Shaye and her team showed my husband and me several homes and helped us put in several offers (we were out-bid). Shaye was very organized and thorough, and constantly checked in and followed up with us, which was very important as we were searching for a property in an extremely competitive market. She was very easy to reach and always available (even on nights and weekends), and was prompt with returning calls when she was not able to pick up the phone herself. In the end, we purchased a home through a different realty company because the seller had an exclusive contract through a different broker. Shaye fully encouraged us to pursue the home, despite the fact that this would mean the loss of a sale for her, and we had been working with her for months. She even put us in touch with a Realtor® within the other company whom she trusted. Even though she was no longer our Realtor®, Shaye kept in touch with us throughout. Due to the rapport we had built, we called her several times throughout the purchasing process to ask for advice when our Realtor ® was on vacation, and when we needed an unbiased opinion. I am sorry that we were not able to finish the process with Shaye, but we are so grateful for having begun the process with her.   • I first met the Southers, Patrick, and Shaye in 2007. Patrick sold my condo in downtown JC. Shaye helped me find my house in the Heights. Over the years, Shaye would reach out a couple of times a year to check on me and see if there was anything that the Southerns could do. Finally, in May, I took them up on it. I moved out of JC in 2019 for work. Keeping the home as a rental. This spring I spoke w/ Patrick about getting a valuation on my home. We talked about the conditions in the area and what the future may look like for my house. He explained that I had what was considered an end-user home. It's a row house, there was no chance a developer would buy it at an inflated price. He also explained that as an absentee landlord, there were tax considerations. After renting it for 3 years and not living there I would lose capital gains tax benefits. Before I was able to retain his services, Patrick suggested that I reach out to my tenants, to ask if they wanted to buy. He offered to give me advice as needed, without listing the house w/ him. My tenants did buy my house. Patrick provided me with invaluable advice from the beginning to the end without asking for anything in return. Patrick and Shaye for over a decade maintained a relationship with me. The service the Southerns provide is beyond the compare. When I return to JC, one of the first calls I'll make will be to the Southerns.

  • We have just sold our condo in Jersey City, New Jersey with Patrick's help recently. Patrick used to contact us for a while, but we didn't plan to sell it two years ago. When we had decided to sell, we came to Patrick who provided his professional analysis and opinions to the current market status. The way he suggested us didn't let us feel like that he was pushing us to sell my property in a rush, but let us know what was the best for us to pricing correctly for the property. That helped increase more showings and we found our buyer luckily after that. During the transaction, he is always prompt to answer all our questions and request. His team also is amazing too. Always patience to solve the problems we had in hiring contractor to fix, paint the condo that made the transaction process like a breeze. We had no issue at all through the closing.
